The Heartsong
Chai recipe and its ceremonial preparation were gifts to Elizabeth
from a fellow Chai Baba. Over
the years, she has added her own unique twist creating both the
caffeine-free offerings: Heartsong’s Rooibos Chai and Heartsong’s Hemp
Chai. The Habañero Honey Brew and
Thai Dragon Tonic are
Elizabeth
’s original creations.
Heartsong
is my heart’s full expression, an offering of health and vitality to
people.
Heartsong has become my meditation, my
lifestyle, my passion. It
is an honor and a pleasure to serve you.
I
was born in Seattle, but grew up in the Mid West (
Illinois
,
Wisconsin,
Michigan,
Ohio). I arrived in
Southern Oregon
with the flood waters of ’97. My professional background involves
working with at-risk (read: ALL) youth and designing exhibits and public
programs for museums and youth centers. I am diverse, creative and a
bit fanatical.
As the mantra
above Heartsong’s stove reminds me daily, “One Love, One Heart, One
Cup… drink it up drink it up drink it up!” Here’s to all of us being
the change we want to see in the world.

I was born in
New Hampshire, just fifty miles northwest of Boston. I spent most of my childhood roaming
the forests near my house, lost in the wonder and amazement of all the
forest had to offer.
I made my way gleefully through high school by
trial and error and one experiment after another. After some time in “the
real world” and traveling, I felt an urgency to learn more to be
an environmental activist, to be part of the solution, to help save and heal
our Earth.
I earned my Environmental Policy degree (with a specialization in
Geography, BS) from Keene
State College and even held a few lofty titles, including Campus Ecology
President, Student Body Vice President and was the only student member of
the Council for a Sustainable Future.
But amidst it all, something was
spiritually
lacking. Then I found the Dakubatede Environmental Education Programs
residential intensive Ecostery. It was everything that I was yearning for
but did not consciously realize at the time and that New Hampshire could not
offer. I made the journey to Southwestern
Oregon
in the fall of 2000. I had made it back home! This is
also when I first met the Chai Mama and Heartsong was still being brewed in a cafe at
night.
To this
day, and each day, I am constantly amazed by the ever present beauty and
love that
continuously surrounds me. I am consistently revitalized by the brews that
we at Heartsong create and offer. I feel blessed each moment to be here,
doing what I am doing, and being who I am.

After many miles traveled from eternity to Philly, to SF to the raging rivers
and amongst the serene mountains of
Jefferson
State
, I have rooted in the Rogue Valley Chai Hut.
HeartSong called and that which flows through I answered.
In no way had I ever imagined I would be brewing tea.
Now it has changed my life in ways I could only have imagined. My
intention was to find a form of work that I had never done before and I also
wanted to HELP people in some way… It is amazing how subtle and exact life
emerges. I love what the
Chai Hut offers: I LOVE TEA, I am able to brew tea for YOU,
and I smell good after work. I
am truly blessed and honored to be a part of something that is able to provide
for others a few of the necessary ingredients for life. This is my purpose.
After all, I am from the city of
Brotherly Love
.
Here are some other things this
brother Loves: my FAMILY no doubt, my entire EARTH family absolutely, reading,
numbers, whitewater boating, the shapes, science, sound,
evolving with our biosphere through conscious awakening,
extraterrestrial anything, almost everything, and my color is Eagles green.
